The 2011 Rail Ale Festival was something of a disappointment with the entrance fee being very high and the beer being very pricey. Furthermore, the beer quality was debatable and the food on offer by the outside caters was not fit to feed a dog. A real shame that the improvements over the years have been overshadowed by the obvious downsides mentioned
Derbyshire Food and Drink Festival 2011

The Derbyshire Food and Drink Festival 2011 was held at Hardwick Hall on 21/22 May. This is now turning into an mini unadvertised beer festival with with approximately 14 real ales and ciders from Derventio, Brampton, Spire and Natterjack not to mention lager from the local Freedom brewery. Well worth a visit next year if you fancy a tipple while your partner buys the jams and pickles.
