Derby Beer Festival

Derby Beer Festival 2011, 6th - 10th July 2011

The 2011 Derby City Charter Summer Beer Festival will take place in the Assembly Rooms between the 6th - 10th July, 2011.

Following on from last years recognition of local heroine Florence Nightingale, this years theme will be a celebration of 40 years of CAMRA.

It is expected that there will be over 150 real ales on offer covering the Wednesday to Sunday sessions including the usual selection of traditional ciders and perrys (not to mention the popular continental bottled beers).

Admission prices will follow the 2010 fees with some session being slightly cheaper.

Food will be provided by the Assembly Rooms on-site caterers. If previous years are anything to go by, make sure you eat before hand or take your own!!

The 2011 Derby Summer Beer Festival will be held at the Derby Assembly Rooms from 6th -10th July, 2011.

The summer festival has a lot to live up to bearing in mind the phenomenal success of the Winter Beer Festival that was re-located to the excellent Derby Roundhouse on Pride Park in February 2011.

Hopefully the organisers can breath new life into this annual social event which, oddly, felt flat and underutilised during 2010. The tired Assembly Rooms may be the only venue able to cater for this festival in the City centre but as an event of this nature needs to at least break even, relocation to the Roundhouse would be a favourite with all those who gave such excellent feedback regarding the Winter Fest' organisation (excluding the lack of toilets issue - tie a knot in it).
